Good Morning Star Shine
Thursday, August 2, 2018
Perhaps the prettiest place to find yourself in all of Erie is to find yourself on the Presque Isle peninsula during a summer sunrise. They are, in a word, spectacular. So spectacular that Lake Erie Cyclefest decided to add a sunrise tour of Presque Isle State Park. And who better to guide the tour than Good Morning Erie's Traci Teudhope.

YMCA Jelly Jar
Friday, August 3, 2018
Riders have the choice of a 27 or 52-mile non-competitive ride. Riders may add an optional loop around Findley Lake, NY to the 52 mile ride to take total mileage to 57 miles. Each tour will take you through the county's beautiful vineyards, fruit farm region and lakeshore. The Lake Erie Grape growing region is the largest grape growing region in the world, and in August smells simply grape-er-rific! The fruity aromas will remind riders of those long ago "jelly jar" days when people put up their own preserves. The ride includes optional stops at Mazza Vineyards and Kraza's Kove (homemade ice cream in Findley Lake, NY) and will conclude with a picnic with wood-fired pizza from Brooklyn Pizza and a beer sampling from Five & 20 Spirits & Brewing. Proceeds from the ride benefit the Y's Food + Fun bus, a free mobile meals site for kids in need.

Our thanks to Hertel & Brown Physical Therapy for providing pre and post –race support to our riders. Sarah Bailey, DPT, Cert. MDT and Phil Sorensen, DPT, will provide taping and stretching for all participants from 7:15 to 9 a.m., and then return at 10:30 a.m. for any post-race needs.

Saturday, August 4, 2018
This is Erie County's premier bicycle tour with a long-standing tradition of spectacular routes, safety support, water stops and after ride fun. This non-competitive event provides several scenic ride routes of varying distances. West Erie County is a treat to the senses with its rolling farmland, narrow lanes, and old growth forest. Choose a 12, 25, or 50-mile loop of Erie County. All routes are monitored by EmergyCare's trained medical professionals and water/snack stations are strategically placed to make sure riders can rest and refuel. This year Tour de West County will be part of the Dan Rice Days celebrations with a new start at Lake Erie Community Park. There are a lot of Dan Rice Days events to keep the whole family entertained while you pedal around West Erie County.
Tour de West County will end with a picnic and all riders will be given tokens to exchange for a beer sampling from Five & 20 Spirits & Brewing at The HUB.

Oscar the Grouch's Gravel Grinder
Sunday, August 5, 2018
Brand new to Lake Erie Cyclefest is the gravel-grinder, so dirty and bumpy that it even makes Oscar grouchy. Not for the faint of heart or road bike this grinder begins at Lake Erie Speedway and follows an early Sunday morning 25 mile route around Eastern Erie County's beautiful Eaton Reservoir, then tags New York State and returns to the speedway. There will be a picnic a beer sampling from Five & 20 Spirits & Brewing following the Gravel Grinder at the HUB.

WQLN Alley Cat Ride
Sunday, August 5, 2018
This is Lake Erie Cyclefest's only bike race. Alley Cat Bike races are fun adventure-bike rides for cyclists of all abilities. Lake Erie Cyclefest's Alley Cat is a scavenger hunt around and through Erie's downtown neighborhoods. Winners are often the most clever not necessarily the most speedy. This year's race will begin at Frontier Park's Educational Center. Riders will be given lanyards to wear around their necks. The lanyards have drawings of what riders need to find and a list of clues. The first three riders to return to Frontier Park will win fabulous prizes. The ride will end with a beer sampling from Five & 20 Spirits & Brewing and the Jazzy portion of Erie's Jazz and Blues Fest.
